Warm fuzzies, cold pricklies and of course wrinked hearts!
The other day we took the kids bowling with the Holladays and they had a blast but of course a family outing is never complete without a meltdown of some sort. We were going to get some food after bowling and Jaala said that she wanted a toy from McDonald's and we told her that she didn't need another toy. Well that did her in. We were all bucked in the car and Justin calmly talked to her and told her that she didn't need something every time we went somewhere and that she should be thankful for the things she did get, (like to go bowling with her family and friends). It was quiet in the car for a few minutes and then Justin asked Jaala if she was happy yet and she said: "I just have a wrinkly heart because you hurt my feelings." Well I have to be honest I had a hard time not laughing. Then she said "Dad when we get home can you tell me a warm fuzzy and not a cold prickly?" I then looked at Justin a little confused by what she meant and then I remembered that a while ago she came home from school and was telling us about warm fuzzies and cold pricklies. A warm fuzzy is when someone says something nice to you, (it makes you feel warm in fuzzy inside) and a cold prickly is when someone says something not nice to you, (it makes you feel bad inside) so all the way home we were telling each other warm fussies and cold pricklies for fun, but I have to admit that a wrinkly heart is a new one!! What will she come up with next?
